Your role as a Level 4 Apprentice Digital Designer/CAD Technician within our Digital Design team in Brighton involves collaborating with skilled Technicians and Engineers on major water projects. You will master the use of industry-leading 3D and 2D software like Civil 3D and Revit, developing your CAD proficiency. Within our Water division, you will join a diverse team of Engineers and Modellers, learning to utilise CAD software to produce drawings for vital infrastructure projects, contributing to innovative and sustainable water solutions for our communities.
Your work will involve:
- Creating site layout/location plans
- Developing 3D models of civil engineering structures, such as manholes, pumping stations, and treatment works
- Collaborating with other disciplines, including mechanical and electrical engineers

Duties include:
- Assisting in the preparation of project drawings and BIM models, understanding, interpreting, and implementing local client CAD standards and BIM data requirements
- Collaborating with engineers, consultants, and technicians from multiple disciplines
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety and applying safe systems of work, including the CDM Regulations
- Contributing to the minimisation of the environmental impact of construction projects
- Controlling the quality of works
- Ensuring compliance with equality, diversity and inclusion and ethical standards
This apprenticeship will enable you to learn whilst you earn as you study for an academic qualification. You will gain a Level 4 Civil Engineering Senior Technician Apprenticeship by attending either Leeds School of Building (block release) or South Thames College Group (day release). This will be discussed further during the recruitment process.
Qualifications for our Level 4 apprenticeship include:
- GCSEs: At least 5 GCSEs with a grade of 4 to 5 (C) or above in Maths and English Language. Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths are also accepted.
- UCAS tariff points: 96 points minimum.
- A level: CCC, including mathematics at grade C or above and one other analytical subject (also with a grade C).
- BTEC (Level 3) Extended Diploma: MMM; must include a Merit or above in Mathematics and Further Mathematics in Construction Units.
