Overview

The Opportunity Following a number of high profile project wins, Stantec have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic Building Services team in Reading or London. We are expanding our project portfolio and looking for experienced professionals to help us achieve our growth goals. You will join an established team to work in an integrated environment that responds to future construction industry demands, delivering building solutions using BIM and the latest technology. You will contribute to sustainable and resilient building design and become integral in leading multidisciplinary building services and environmental design projects.

You will be part of a project team, supporting clients to develop briefs, produce reports for mechanical building services requirements, create outline, scheme and detailed designs, and generate drawings and specifications. You will integrate sustainability and carbon emission reduction considerations into projects. You will supervise an expanding team, allocate workload, review outputs, monitor progress against time and budget constraints, and mentor junior staff.

This is a key role with scope for personal growth and skill development. You will join the Consulting Firm of the Year at the 2023 NCE Awards, recognised for market success and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver multidisciplinary building services and environmental design projects.
  • Develop detailed briefs and produce reports for electrical engineering services, including designs, drawings and specifications.
  • Integrate sustainability and carbon reduction strategies into projects.
  • Supervise and mentor a growing team, allocate workload, review outputs, and manage progress against schedule and budget.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders across multi-disciplinary groups.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven track record in an M&E team, preferably within a design engineering consultancy.
  • Experience liaising with clients and a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering services design, systems and equipment design, calculations, and drawing production.
  • Experience with design tools such as Revit and IES.
  • Understanding of Technical Standards, planning policies, British Standards and Building Regulations.
