Role Overview
We’re recruiting Engineers and Consultants at all levels across the UK. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in the design and management of a diverse range of river and coastal projects, including Nature‑based Solutions (NBS), flood risk management schemes, river engineering, lowland drainage, and support for strategic developments for a variety of public and private sector clients. You’ll work on some of the largest and most important flood risk management projects in the UK, protecting people, properties and infrastructure from flooding, and improving habitats for nature.
Responsibilities
- Preparing designs, specifications, and reports for flood risk management schemes, river and coastal engineering.
- Preparing and communicating design information for all stages of the project development cycle from concept to construction.
- NEC Contract management (experience desirable, but not essential).
- Delegating to other team members and ensuring high‑quality design information through QA checks.
- Liaising with the Environment Agency, Natural England, Marine Management Organisation and other stakeholders to obtain necessary consents.
- Liaising with clients, contractors and multi‑disciplinary Stantec teams through all stages of projects.
- Supporting projects through the construction stage, including technical queries and inspections to monitor quality.
- Supporting the growth of the team, mentoring and developing early‑career staff.
Qualifications
- Relevant industry degree.
- Chartered professional status, or close to application.
- Previous responsible experience in relevant design roles.
- Experience working with other disciplines regarding the design and specification of works.
- Experience working with contractors regarding supervision of and monitoring of construction works.
- Experience with AutoCAD an advantage.
