The Opportunity
At Stantec, we have built our reputation over decades of success. We are now looking forward to a very exciting period ahead as we grow our multi-disciplinary teams. Stantec’s four key values are:
- We are driven to achieve;
- We put people first;
- We do what is right;
- We are better together.
These values describe perfectly how we work together; supporting each other and guiding clients to achieve project requirements. We do what is right by designing with communities in mind, whilst seeking the best environmental and social outcomes.
As such, we are currently seeking an experienced EIA Coordinator from a Senior level through to Senior Associate to join our team permanently. With offices across the UK, we can offer you a mix of home and office working which will help maintain a good work-life balance and effective team working. We would encourage you to apply regardless of your UK location.
Our broad-based growth means we are supporting projects across multiple sectors, including major energy and infrastructure schemes. We are working on several exciting and innovative energy projects including carbon capture and storage, renewable energy of all types and scales, hydrogen and transmission & distribution. As we are currently supporting some of the country’s most significant projects, we are seeking a candidate whose ambition matches our own.
Responsibilities
At the Senior / Senior Associate level, your tasks will include supporting the planning and delivery of energy and infrastructure projects, as appropriate, while advising our clients throughout the development lifecycle. You will be expected to manage EIA screening and scoping processes, and prepare Environmental Statements including reviewing technical input, as well as other environmental and planning-related reports. Associates and Senior Associates will support, guide and have the opportunity to lead the planning and delivery of energy and infrastructure projects, advising clients through the development lifecycle. You will lead environmental teams, overseeing Environmental Impact Assessments, and the preparation of environmental and planning-related reports. You will work with other senior members of our leadership team to develop client relationships and will be expected to support the development of more junior members of the team, playing an important role in the growth of the team. You will contribute to single and multi-disciplinary proposals bids as well as the financial management of our project work. This role offers the opportunity to work in a truly multi-disciplinary environment, giving access to a broad knowledge base with the support of experts across the business. It is anticipated that the role will include supporting the delivery of a broad range of environmental planning work streams, to deliver integrated environmental services.
About You
You will have strong environmental planning experience (EIA), preferably with experience working in (or interest in) the energy sector, and be either chartered or working towards chartership. You will have a broad understanding of environmental issues and disciplines, a working knowledge of different consenting regimes and development management procedures (Town and Country Planning & Planning Act, Hybrid Bill etc). DCO experience is not essential but would be considered favourably. You will have experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams, a track record of financial management of projects and excellent communication skills at all levels. Your ability to manage and mentor those around you will be an important asset. Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate competency and flexibility to meet the demands of the role. All Stantec office locations will be considered, with full-time or part-time options available.
