The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Degree Apprentice (Level 6) Fire Engineer to join our Apprentice Programme in our Fire Engineering team based in Manchester, starting in 2026. This exciting opportunity will provide you with hands-on experience and academic qualifications to launch a successful career in Engineering.
Based in Manchester, you'll work alongside a team that has earned a reputation for delivering technically excellent work. From concept to construction, our fire engineering expertise helps to optimise design and ensure complex buildings are compliant with regulations. We have extensive experience working on public sector, residential, commercial, industrial and high hazard process construction projects. We deliver a range of engineering services throughout each step of the development process, from site appraisal, through to planning, design and delivery services for all types of projects.
This apprenticeship will enable you to learn whilst you earn as you study for an academic qualification. You will gain a BEng Fire Safety Engineer Degree (Level 6) Apprenticeship in conjunction with our Training Provider - University of Lancashire (block release). This will be discussed further during the recruitment process.

QualificationsAbout you:
- For Our Level 6 Apprenticeship You Will Need Either UCAS tariff points: 128 points minimum.
- A level: ABB, including Mathematics at grade B or above and one other analytical science subject also at Grade B - preferably Physics and excludes General Studies.
- BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma: DDM; must include a Merit or above in Mathematics and Further Mathematics in Construction Units (equivalent to 128 UCAS points).
- Irish Leaving Certificate: (Highers) H3, H3, H3, H3, H3, H4 (at least H3 for Mathematics and one other Analytical Science)
- International Baccalaureate: 32-34 points/655. HL5 in Mathematics (Analysis and Approaches) and HL5 in another Science subject, including Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Design Technology, Physics, Environmental Systems and Societies.
- Scottish Highers: 4 SQA Advanced Highers BBB and SQA Highers is A, A, B, B, B (to include Mathematics)
- Other equivalent qualifications may be considered.
- GCSEs: At least 5 GCSEs with a grade of 5 or 6 (B) or above in Mathematics and English Language. Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Mathematics are also accepted.
You must fulfil our GCSE entry requirements as well as one of the requirements listed above.
