We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner to join our thriving Transport Planning team in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This role is perfect for someone with a solid understanding of transport planning—particularly development planning—and a passion for supporting public sector schemes.

Our engineers and planners have played a key role in the regeneration of major city landmarks, including Paradise, Port Loop, the Mailbox, Arena Birmingham, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, the Bullring, and the Grand Hotel. We’ve also supported major new developments across the Midlands, such as the UK Central Hub and Blythe Valley Park. In addition, our team contributed to the DHL Airport project, a scheme that created hundreds of jobs and delivered significant economic benefits to the local area. This project aligned with DHL’s long‑standing GoGreen initiative, focused on developing more environmentally sustainable facilities.

About the role:

  • Support the technical delivery of transportation projects
  • Prepare Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and a range of transport studies
  • Undertake associated technical and analytical work
  • Collaborate with clients, design teams, local authorities and the public
  • Support and mentor junior team members

About You:

  • Degree qualified in transportation, geography, engineering, or a related discipline
  • Understanding of the planning system with experience in Transport Assessments, Travel Planning, junction modelling/analysis and relevant software packages
  • Strong numerical skills with experience managing budget and quality at project level
  • Ideally working towards a professional qualification (e.g., Chartered Transport Planning Professional)
