As Stantec continues to grow across the Energy sector, we are building our pipeline of talented Risk Management professionals for future opportunities across the UK. Whether you are looking to develop your career in risk management or bring existing programme and project risk expertise to a growing team, we would love to hear from you. Our Risk Management team supports some of the UK’s largest and most complex infrastructure programmes, helping clients make informed decisions, manage uncertainty, and successfully deliver critical projects.
About the Role
As part of our Risk Management team, you will work with programme management, project controls, and delivery teams to support clients in identifying, assessing, and managing risks throughout the project lifecycle. Depending on your level of experience, you could be involved in a broad range of risk management activities, from supporting risk workshops and maintaining risk registers through to leading the development and delivery of tailored risk management frameworks for major programmes and projects. You will work closely with clients across the Water, Energy, and Transport sectors, helping them understand and manage project and programme risks while integrating risk management with wider project controls disciplines.
Your Impact
In this role, you will help organisations successfully navigate uncertainty and improve the delivery of major infrastructure programmes. Through effective risk identification, assessment, and management, you will provide valuable insight that supports informed decision-making and strengthens project performance. By collaborating with programme teams, project controls specialists, and clients, you will help ensure that risks and opportunities are understood, monitored, and managed proactively throughout the project lifecycle.
About You
We are interested in hearing from individuals at varying stages of their risk management careers, from those with some exposure to risk processes through PMO or Project Controls roles, to experienced Programme and Project Risk Managers looking for their next challenge. You will bring:
- A degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline
- Experience in risk management, project controls, PMO, programme delivery, or a related field
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation skills
- The ability to analyse information, identify risks, and support effective decision-making
- A collaborative and proactive approach, with a willingness to learn and develop
- Experience working within project or programme environments
For more experienced candidates, we would also welcome:
- A strong understanding of project and programme risk management frameworks
- Experience facilitating risk workshops and developing risk registers and reporting
- Knowledge of programme and project lifecycle management
- Experience undertaking Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) and Quantitative Cost Risk Analysis (QCRA)
- Experience building trusted client relationships and providing risk management advice across major programmes
Most importantly, you will be passionate about helping clients manage uncertainty, improve project outcomes, and deliver some of the UK's most exciting infrastructure programmes while continuing to grow your own career within a supportive and forward-thinking organisation.
