We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing MEP (Building Services) team in the Southwest. Our team is lively, supportive, and enjoys working together while delivering exceptional work.

Our Plymouth office offers a dynamic base for delivering transformative projects across the UK and beyond. From this location, we’ve played a pivotal role in some of the UK’s most forward-thinking infrastructure and development projects. Some of our notable achievements include work on large-scale energy transmission projects, such as housing complex conversion equipment for new high-voltage direct current converter stations to transmit emission-free electricity. We also led the refurbishment and new-build extension of the Civic Centre in Trowbridge, modernizing the space while preserving its historical significance. Similarly, the Atlantic Village extension in Bideford showcases our ability to deliver large-scale retail and mixed-use developments, increasing the shopping centre’s size by 70 percent.

About you:

As a Senior / Principal Electrical Design Engineer, you will support multidisciplinary (MEP) engineering projects from start to finish, positively engaging with the client and supporting them in achieving their goals. Our team leads will support you to lead all aspects of the project, including project team, deliverables, resourcing, programme and budget, to deliver high-quality outputs for our clients. We are excited to see you develop and oversee mechanical concepts and design solutions. Then manage a project team to deliver detailed design to required standards, producing required design calculations. We want you to champion an inclusive, supportive culture that works closely and collaboratively, both internally and with external design teams. Communication and ownership are key to our team’s success and happiness.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer in the UK, ideally with a track record of delivering both electrical and M&E solutions across varied building sectors.
  • Developing and mentoring junior engineers, including supporting chartership routes.
  • Contributing to innovation, process improvement, and technical excellence initiatives.
  • Assisting with aspects of team management, supporting our MEP lead in activities such as resource planning, line management, and quality assurance.
  • A collaborative mindset and experience working closely with architects and multidisciplinary teams.

You should have:

  • A relevant qualification (HNC, HND, Bachelor's, or Master's).
  • A proven background in Building Services design.
  • A track record working across sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, residential and/or industrial.
  • Familiarity with BIM processes and tools including Revit.
