We have an exciting opportunity for a Highways Assistant or Civil Engineer to join our Civil Infrastructure team in either Manchester or Leeds. You'll become part of a friendly, collaborative team delivering a diverse range of projects across the North, supporting the design and delivery of infrastructure that improves communities and connectivity across the UK. From local community infrastructure schemes to major national infrastructure projects, you'll gain experience working on Active Travel, Bus Infrastructure, Public Realm and highways projects. ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Highways Assistant or Civil Engineer, you'll support the design and delivery of highways and civil infrastructure projects, working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and sustainable solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the design and delivery of highways and infrastructure projects.
- Preparing technical drawings, reports and supporting documentation.
- Supporting projects through all stages of delivery, from concept design to construction.
- Collaborating with colleagues, clients, local authorities and utility providers.
- Undertaking site visits, inspections and project coordination activities.
- Developing your technical knowledge and working towards professional accreditation where applicable.

ABOUT YOU
You'll be degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and have an interest in highways and infrastructure design. Whether you're starting your career or have some industry experience, you'll be keen to develop your technical skills and contribute to successful project delivery. You'll also have:
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
- The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A willingness to work towards professional qualifications such as IEng or CEng.
Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
- Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- DMRB, Manual for Streets and LTN 1/20.
- Utility coordination.
- InfoDrainage or MicroDrainage.
- KeySIGNS, KeyLINES or KeyPOST.
