At Stantec, our Process Engineers are helping water companies deliver cleaner rivers, more resilient water supplies and sustainable treatment solutions that will serve communities for generations to come. We're looking for a Process Engineer to join our growing Water team based in High Wycombe or Reading. Whether your expertise lies in clean water or wastewater treatment, you'll become part of a collaborative national process engineering team delivering some of the UK's most significant water infrastructure projects.

From improving treatment performance and supporting strategic water resource schemes to developing innovative solutions for emerging contaminants and environmental compliance, you'll have the opportunity to work on diverse, technically challenging projects while continuing to develop your expertise alongside some of the industry's leading specialists.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you'll contribute to the delivery of projects across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design, commissioning and operational support. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients and contractors to develop practical, sustainable process solutions that improve treatment performance and deliver long-term value. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing process designs, mass balances, hydraulic calculations and technical reports.
  • Supporting the design and optimisation of clean water and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Undertaking site visits, investigations and process performance assessments.
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary design teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
  • Supporting client engagement by translating operational challenges into effective engineering solutions.
  • Contributing to technical innovation and continuous improvement across the process engineering team.

Your designs will help clients improve operational efficiency, meet increasingly demanding environmental standards and provide safe, reliable water services for millions of people. ABOUT YOU

Essential

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or another relevant discipline.
  • Experience delivering process engineering work within the UK water sector.
  • Knowledge of clean water and/or wastewater treatment processes.
  • Experience preparing process calculations, technical reports and engineering documentation.
  • Strong communication and collaborative working skills.
  • A proactive approach with a passion for delivering sustainable engineering solutions.

Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or actively working towards Chartership.
  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary design projects.
  • Experience carrying out site investigations, commissioning or process optimisation studies.
  • Knowledge of emerging treatment technologies and digital engineering approaches.
