The Opportunity
Join our 2027 Graduate Programme as a Graduate Civil Engineer in our High Wycombe office, where you will be involved in significant projects across our water division from day one, supporting both local and national work.
About The Role
As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will join a Civils team in our High Wycombe office, supporting local water projects and working closely with colleagues across our wider regional and national teams. The team supports civil design and project delivery across a range of water and infrastructure projects, from early-stage planning and concept design through to tender, construction and operation. You will gain experience on local projects connected to the Derby office while also contributing to wider water sector schemes delivered across Stantec’s UK teams. Working as part of a friendly and collaborative project team, with support and guidance from Senior and Principal Civil Engineers, you will help solve engineering problems and support civil engineering design across all stages of project delivery. Your work will include producing calculations, drawings and technical documents, attending meetings and taking opportunities to visit construction sites.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Supporting the civil engineering team across a wide range of project stages and sectors.
- Producing engineering calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
- Contributing to civil design work from concept and planning through to tender, construction and early operation.
- Attending project and design meetings, contributing ideas and learning from experienced colleagues.
- Taking opportunities to visit construction sites and build practical understanding of design delivery.
- Developing your technical capability by learning a variety of civil engineering software and design approaches.
About you:
At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. Along with your Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, we’d love to receive your application if you are:

- A Collaborator - You work effectively with lots of different people, considering others’ perspectives to shape better outcomes.
- A Problem-Solver - You love to give your thoughts based on what you see, being unafraid to challenge conventional thinking.
Please note, we ask our graduates to come into the office 4 days per week, to ensure that colleagues are able to provide the appropriate level of support.

- A competitive salary
- Private medical insurance
- A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection and life assurance
- Permanent employment contract to demonstrate our commitment to your long-term career at Stantec
