We work closely with our MEP, geotechnical and architectural colleagues on building projects across Cardiff and nationally, giving you the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of disciplines and develop a holistic understanding of project delivery. Our team works across a wide range of building sectors, with specialist expertise in education, defence, residential, healthcare, and heritage projects. We operate in accordance with current industry standards and legislation, including the latest Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act.

As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you'll support our Structural Engineering team in the design and delivery of building projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking structural analysis and design calculations.
  • Preparing specifications and sketches/drawings.
  • Carrying out structural inspections.
  • Attending project meetings.

You will work closely with experienced engineers to develop practical, safe, and sustainable design solutions across a range of sectors.

We are committed to supporting employees in achieving relevant professional qualifications and accreditation. The applicable professional qualification for this role is IEng or CEng status with either the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or the Institution of Structural Engineers.

This role will help create high-quality, sustainable and resilient buildings that deliver positive outcomes for communities and the environment. Working across a range of projects, you will support the design and delivery of safe, efficient and future-ready buildings, helping clients reduce environmental impact, enhance building performance and create spaces that improve the wellbeing of those who use them.

At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. Along with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in BEng Civil or Structural Engineering, a knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Office AutoCAD and familiarity with structural engineering analysis and design software would be beneficial. You should have a keen interest in working in the Buildings sector.

Please note, we ask our graduates to come into the office 4 days per week, to ensure that you receive sufficient time with your team and receive the appropriate level of support. Applicants must have an unconditional right to live and work in the UK for an indefinite period without limitation.
