Are you a driven and innovative Geotechnical Engineer who thrives on challenging conventional thinking? As we move through 2026, Stantec’s Geotechnical Team is expanding, and we are looking for passionate individuals to join our collaborative and ambitious hubs in Warrington, Exeter, and Bristol. We work closely with our clients to develop innovative, sustainable, and efficient solutions, applying genuinely new ways of working to meet the unprecedented environmental and efficiency challenges facing our industry.

We are currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our regional teams. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing community with significant potential for career progression as the AMP8 water investment cycle reaches its peak. We offer the flexibility of balancing home and office work, promoting a healthy work-life blend and effective teamwork. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the delivery of our UK infrastructure programs. While you will have a primary focus on the water sector—working with key regional clients such as United Utilities, Yorkshire Water, and Wessex Water—you will also have the chance to contribute to our diversifying portfolio across other sectors.

You will collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary engineering and design teams, providing essential support and expert advice to the contractors we work with.

About You

You will hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or a related subject. You will also be a professional who is either already a Chartered member or, more likely at this level, actively and demonstrably working towards chartership with a relevant institution such as the ICE or the Geological Society. We are looking for an engineer with a solid foundation in the following areas:

  • Site Characterisation: Experience preparing desk studies for proposed construction sites, including data acquisition, site inspections, and drafting initial reports.
  • Technical Reporting: A proven ability to prepare interpretative geotechnical reports for ground investigations.
  • Engineering Analysis: Experience in undertaking the analysis of geotechnical structures using modern industry software and standards.

Most importantly, you will have a passion for delivering high-quality, nature-positive geotechnical solutions to our clients. Your ability to think critically about ground risk and translate it into actionable design intelligence will be critical to your success in this role.
