Responsibilities include working as part of the Cable team on electrical substation design, major renewables, HVDC interconnectors, offshore grids, FEED design, and related projects. You will work closely with other disciplines and support or lead design activities.

Qualifications required are:

  • Pro‑active individual with knowledge of the electricity transmission and distribution industry.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, and professional registration as a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council and ICE preferred.
  • Experience as a civil substation engineer with awareness of other typical HV civil engineering projects.
  • Experience in design (concept, FEED, and detail) of transmission and distribution systems for utility companies based on international standards.
  • Ability to carry out interdisciplinary coordination and resolve design issues.
  • Application of practical knowledge to cable design, including installation design, routing layouts, trench and trenchless section layouts, cable bonding and phasing, cable pulling, termination and jointing arrangements.
  • Hands‑on experience with CYMCAP software and cable sizing calculations based on international standards.
  • Capability to work under challenging workload with changing deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation.
