As a Building Structural Technician at Stantec, you will support the delivery of structural engineering projects by producing and coordinating 2D and 3D models, drawings and schedules. You will ensure all outputs are accurate, coordinated and aligned with project requirements and programme. Working closely with engineers and other disciplines, you will integrate technical information throughout all project stages, support document control, coordinate with external stakeholders, help allocate work for junior team members, and assist with site inspections, surveys and reporting. You will also contribute to process improvement and workflow efficiency across the team.
Responsibilities
- Produce and coordinate structural models, drawings and schedules.
- Ensure deliverables are accurate, coordinated and meet project requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to integrate technical information.
- Support document control and coordination with external stakeholders.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians, apprentices and trainees.
- Assist with site inspections, surveys and reporting.
- Contribute to process improvement and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience working as a Structural Technician within a design environment.
- Strong capability in producing and coordinating structural models and drawings.
- Good understanding of project stages, health and safety and quality assurance processes.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members (desirable).
- Proactive approach to continuous professional development.
