You'll take on a leading position within our Northampton team, acting as the focal point for geotechnical expertise locally while being supported by a wider Midlands team of 30+ geotechnical specialists and a national division of around 100. Working under the leadership of Paul Eastwood, Geo Regional Director for the Midlands, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality geotechnical solutions across a diverse range of projects.
Your role will include:
- Leading and delivering ground investigations and geotechnical designs
- Developing robust ground models
- Producing clear, high-quality interpretive reports
- Designing geotechnical structures including foundations, earthworks, slopes, retaining structures and ground improvement solutions
- Acting as a technical leader and growing the geotechnical capability within the Birmingham team

You’ll play a key role in strengthening and expanding our geotechnical presence in Birmingham, helping to shape the team, influence projects, and deliver practical, high-quality solutions to real-world engineering challenges across the region. Qualifications:
- Proven experience scoping and delivering geotechnical investigations and designs
- Strong ground modelling and interpretive reporting skills
- Experience designing a range of geotechnical structures
- Confidence working independently and leading technical delivery
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (BEng, BSc or higher)
- Chartered status with a relevant professional body
