Due to continued growth, new project wins, and expanding client relationships, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join Stantec's Energy & Resources team. Ideally based in Redditch, Newcastle or Manchester you will play a key role within our Waste and Generation team, supporting a diverse portfolio of cutting‑edge energy projects.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work across a wide range of technologies and projects, including Energy from Waste (EfW) plants, district heating systems, gasification, hydrogen generation, and biogas production schemes. You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle—from early‑stage optioneering and feasibility studies through to detailed design and installation support. This will include undertaking site surveys and investigations, developing technical solutions, and contributing to project‑wide design deliverables. Working collaboratively with clients, partners, and multidisciplinary teams, you will help deliver integrated engineering solutions that meet both technical and commercial objectives.

Throughout the role you will contribute to design outputs such as general arrangement drawings, 3D models, and P&IDs, while maintaining a strong focus on health, safety and environmental (HSE) responsibilities. Your impact will include ensuring that mechanical designs are practical, efficient and aligned with project goals, and that vendor designs meet quality and consistency requirements.

Most importantly, you will embody a client‑focused mindset, collaborating effectively with others and contributing to a culture of service excellence, innovation, and community‑centric design.
