We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Water team in Manchester or Warrington. This is an excellent opportunity to build your career within one of the UK's leading multidisciplinary consultancies, working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists on nationally significant AMP8 programmes.
Working with us, you'll have the opportunity to:

As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll support the delivery of mechanical engineering design across a wide range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working closely with senior engineers, Project Managers and other technical disciplines, you'll contribute to the development of safe, efficient and sustainable engineering solutions.
You will:
- Support mechanical design activities from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction support.
- Produce mechanical calculations, technical specifications, schedules, reports and engineering documentation.
- Assist with the design of pumping stations, water and wastewater treatment works, pipelines and associated mechanical infrastructure.
- Undertake site visits, surveys and technical investigations where required.
- Collaborate with electrical, process, civil and structural engineers to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Work closely with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders to help deliver projects safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard.
Your work will support reliable drinking water supplies, improve wastewater treatment and help create resilient assets that protect the environment and respond to future challenges.
You'll:

Essential qualifications include:
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) or actively working towards.
- Experience within mechanical engineering design, ideally within the water sector or another regulated infrastructure industry.
- Understanding of mechanical engineering design principles and industry standards.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable qualifications include:
- Experience within the water, utilities, energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Knowledge of pumping systems, treatment processes or mechanical plant design.
- Experience producing technical specifications, reports and engineering documentation.
- Experience using digital engineering tools and modern methods of project delivery.
