As part of our continued digital evolution, we are looking for a Junior GenAI Developer to join our Digital Centre of Excellence (DCoE). This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of enterprise AI at Stantec, driving the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions that create real business value across the organisation.

Working alongside data scientists, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders, you will help establish the foundations for scalable, secure, and responsible AI adoption while contributing to innovative solutions that enhance productivity, decision-making, and operational efficiency.

About the Role

As a Junior GenAI Developer, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions, supporting a growing portfolio of AI initiatives across Stantec. You will work across the full solution lifecycle, helping to build and operationalise technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, AI agents, multi-agent systems, and intelligent automation solutions. A significant focus of the role will be ensuring that AI capabilities are delivered in a scalable, secure, and well-governed manner that aligns with enterprise architecture standards and responsible AI principles.

Working closely with AI specialists, product owners, engineering teams, and business stakeholders, you will help define technical standards, establish architectural patterns, and guide implementation approaches. You will also support the integration of AI solutions with enterprise systems, data platforms, APIs, and knowledge repositories while ensuring robust security, compliance, and governance controls are embedded throughout.

In addition, you will play a key role in evaluating emerging technologies, continuously exploring new opportunities to enhance Stantec’s AI capabilities and drive innovation across the business.

In this role, you will help shape how artificial intelligence is adopted and scaled across Stantec, enabling teams to work more efficiently, make better-informed decisions, and unlock new opportunities through innovative technology solutions. By designing and implementing enterprise AI architectures, you will ensure that generative and agentic AI capabilities are both technically robust and aligned to business objectives. Your work will help establish trusted frameworks for AI governance, safety, security, and compliance, creating solutions that can be confidently deployed at scale.

Through your collaboration with technical and business teams, you will help bridge the gap between emerging AI technologies and practical business applications, turning innovative concepts into measurable outcomes. From developing intelligent agents and automation capabilities to enhancing knowledge management and decision support systems, your contribution will directly influence the future of digital transformation within the organisation. Ultimately, you will play a pivotal role in building Stantec’s AI capability, helping to create innovative, responsible, and scalable solutions that drive long-term value across the business.

About You

You are a technically strong AI professional with a passion for emerging technologies and a proven track record of delivering innovative digital solutions. You enjoy solving complex problems, working across multidisciplinary teams, and translating cutting-edge AI concepts into practical business outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Experience designing and delivering AI, machine learning, or Generative AI solutions within enterprise environments

  • Hands-on experience developing custom AI agents and AI-powered solutions
  • Experience working with platforms such as Azure AI Foundry and Microsoft Copilot Studio

Desirable:
  • Experience designing and deploying multi-agent systems, RAG architectures, and intelligent automation solutions
  • Experience developing and deploying Microsoft Copilot Studio agents, including topics, actions, integrations, and orchestration logic
  • Knowledge of AI model lifecycle management, evaluation, monitoring, and operational governance

Experience delivering AI/ML solutions, including recent hands-on experience with Generative AI technologies. Experience deploying AI solutions within Microsoft Azure environments.
