About the Role
Are you a Civil Engineer located near Taunton with experience in the infrastructure sector? Do you have a passion for delivering sustainable projects that have a lasting impact on our communities? This opportunity is ideal for an Engineer looking to progress to a Senior Engineer role, with full support provided for career development and advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing drainage strategies, calculations and SuDs reports for planning.
- Preparing plans and drawings at all stages of the development cycle (concept through to construction).
- Design of Earthworks, Pavement and Drainage and the preparation of the associated specifications.
- Ensuring high quality delivery in design through QA checks.
- Liaise with Local Authorities and other stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals.
- Liaise with clients, third‑party bodies and multidisciplinary teams on all relevant aspects of projects.
- Assist during the construction stage, including site queries and inspections.
- Opportunity to grow the team and mentor junior engineers.
About You
- Civil Engineering degree, or similar.
- Previous experience in an Infrastructure Design role.
- Experience producing design of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) with good knowledge of relevant current standards and guidelines and contemporary environmental solutions to manage land drainage.
- Experience of working with other disciplines and interested parties with regards to the design and detailing of Infrastructure works.
- Experience of working with Contractors and interested parties with regards to supervision of and monitoring construction works.
- Experience of S278 and S38 highway schemes, and the ability to confidently manage the agreement process.
- Strong working knowledge of Section 104 and 106 for drainage.
- Ability to represent the employer on a client‑facing basis.
- Able to work independently.
- Proficient in the following design software: AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Infodrainage or MicroDrainage.
