Overview
Stantec has a market leading Transport Planning team in Scotland and we are currently seeking an enthusiastic Senior Transport Planner to join us, working in our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices. Our team works with excellent clients on major transit projects in Scotland’s largest cities. We are a public sector client-focused and results-driven consultancy, with a growing team of over 30 Transport Planners based in Scotland.
As a Senior Transport Planner, you will support the development and delivery of a range of high-profile sustainable transport projects, including major scheme appraisals, business cases, local and regional strategies, and monitoring & evaluation studies. You will interact with and be a key point of contact with clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide support in the development and delivery of high-profile sustainable transport projects, including major scheme appraisals, business cases, local and regional strategies, and monitoring & evaluation studies.
- Act as a key point of contact with clients and ensure documentation adheres to client and company standards and expectations.
- Communicate and work collaboratively within project teams to deliver high-quality outputs.
- Mentor, guide, manage and provide technical advice to junior employees.
- Support career progression and personal development by delivering high-quality services to influential clients.
About You / Qualifications
- You will be highly numerate with good report writing skills.
- You will be an excellent communicator able to engage with teams, clients and stakeholders.
- You will have experience in supporting public sector clients in areas such as transport planning, transport appraisal, transport business cases and stakeholder engagement and consultation.
- You will have experience across a range of modes, including public transport and active travel.
- You will have a broad understanding of current transport trends and challenges in Scotland and the rest of the UK.
- You will have the ability to work effectively individually or as part of a project team.
- You will ideally have some experience managing or mentoring junior staff.
- You will likely be working towards the Chartered Transport Planning Professional qualification and we will support you in gaining it.
- Your passion for developing transport solutions and delivering a first-class service to your clients will be critical to your success.
