As part of our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Principal Process Engineer for future opportunities within our Energy & Resources team. This role would ideally be based in Redditch, Newcastle, Birmingham or Manchester, and offers the chance to contribute to some of the most exciting and impactful projects in the sector.
You will join our Waste & Generation team, working across a diverse portfolio that includes conventional EfW plants, district heating networks, gasification schemes, hydrogen generation projects and multiple biogas facilities. Role
As a Principal Process Engineer, you will lead multidisciplinary project teams and guide the delivery of innovative, efficient and sustainable engineering solutions. You will work closely with global experts, applying your technical knowledge to solve complex challenges and support clients across the full project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Providing technical leadership across multi‑disciplinary project team
- Leading digital delivery strategies, from process modelling and mass balances to P&IDs
- Using appropriate software tools to develop solutions and ensure successful project outcomes
- Managing project scope, risk, budgets and team performance
- Mentoring and coaching process engineers to support their professional growth
- Supporting safe design practices and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement in HSE
- Collaborating with clients both on‑site and remotely to ensure alignment and successful delivery
- You will play a central role in shaping project direction, driving technical excellence and ensuring that our solutions deliver real value for clients and communities.
About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you will be degree‑qualified (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline, with experience in the energy, water, or broader process industries. Experience across both would be highly valued. You must also be a member of a relevant engineering institution such as IChemE.
