Join our 2027 (Autumn) Graduate Programme as a Graduate Civil Engineer (Bridges) in our Reading office, where you'll be part of a market-leading Community Development discipline. As a Stantec graduate, you'll collaborate with your team and wider graduate cohort, developing your bridge engineering expertise within an exciting and creative multidisciplinary environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and highly experienced Bridges and Civil Structures team, working on projects that help connect communities and support critical infrastructure across the UK. As part of a wider national network of bridge engineering specialists, you'll gain exposure to a diverse range of projects spanning the full asset lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through to inspection, maintenance and long-term asset management.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll contribute to the design, assessment and maintenance of bridges and other civil structures, applying advanced engineering analysis and industry-leading software to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. You'll also benefit from structured training, mentoring and professional development opportunities, helping you build the technical and practical skills needed for a successful career in bridge engineering.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the design, assessment and maintenance of bridges and civil structures.
  • Supporting bridge inspections, site visits and condition assessments.
  • Producing engineering calculations, analysis and technical drawings using industry-leading software.
  • Contributing to technical reports, specifications and project documentation.
  • Working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
  • Supporting projects throughout the asset lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through to asset management.
  • Attending client meetings, workshops and site inspections to develop your understanding of project delivery.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation in structural and bridge engineering while working on a diverse range of infrastructure projects across the UK.
