Your role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Water & Renewable Energy team based in Newcastle, joining our 2027 Graduate Programme. You will be involved in significant projects from day one both locally and nationally within the private and public sector. Sitting within our National Dams & Hydro team, you will support Stantec’s Water and Energy teams in meeting UK and international demands for water supply and energy solutions. Our team is made up of early careers and experienced professionals.
Day-to-day, you’ll be working closely with your team to contribute to dam safety assessments, dam safety monitoring and reporting, rehabilitation design of existing dams, as well as designing new water and hydropower dams, including pumped storage schemes. You will have the opportunity to learn from our experts and gain exposure to a variety of projects, including dams and reservoir studies, dams and reservoir design, water resource studies and hydropower studies, as well as supporting many of the UK water companies with inspections, remediation and development of dams. You will develop practical skills in technical report writing and the use of tools such as Word and Excel. This role provides support towards ICE professional progression, alongside opportunities to attend relevant British Dam Society CPD events.
