About the Role
As a Consultant within our Advisory Services team, you will support the successful delivery of major capital programmes by combining programme controls, data management, digital innovation, and performance insight. Working closely with project controls, PMO, commercial, and delivery teams, you will help clients improve how they plan, manage, and report the delivery of large-scale investment programmes. Your role will involve developing and maintaining integrated schedules using Primavera P6, managing programme data across planning, cost, risk, change, and performance reporting, and supporting robust governance and assurance processes.
You will also play an active role in driving digital innovation, using tools such as Power Automate and Microsoft 365 applications to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance reporting capabilities. As organisations increasingly adopt emerging technologies, you will contribute to the practical implementation of AI tools that improve productivity, automate routine activities, and generate greater insight from programme data.
Alongside this, you will support cost control activities, including forecasting, budget monitoring, variance analysis, change control, and Earned Value Management, helping clients gain clear visibility of project performance and make informed decisions throughout programme delivery.
As part of Stantec's wider Advisory community, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills across a broad range of service areas, supported by extensive professional development, training, and networking opportunities.
Your Impact
In this role, you will help organisations deliver some of the UK's most significant infrastructure investments by improving the way programmes are planned, governed, monitored, and reported. Through your work with programme data, controls processes, and digital tools, you will provide the insight and structure that enable better decision‑making and more predictable project outcomes.
By strengthening scheduling, cost management, governance, and performance reporting practices, you will help clients identify risks and opportunities earlier, improve efficiency, and increase confidence in programme delivery. Your contribution will support greater transparency across projects while enabling leadership teams to make decisions based on accurate and meaningful information.
You will also play an important role in driving innovation, helping clients embrace new digital approaches and technologies that reduce manual effort, improve productivity, and unlock greater value from data. Through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to the successful delivery of major capital programmes that support the UK's evolving energy infrastructure and long‑term sustainability goals.
About You
You are an analytical and forward‑thinking professional with experience supporting the delivery of major projects or capital programmes. You will bring:

- A background in project controls, PMO, planning, commercial, data, or programme management environments and an interest in developing a career within advisory and consulting services
- Experience working with programme data to support reporting, performance analysis, and decision‑making
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, with an interest in digital tools and process improvement
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- The ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams in a fast‑paced environment
- A proactive approach to innovation and continuous improvement

- Primavera P6 scheduling and programme planning
- Cost control, forecasting, and change management
- Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, or other Microsoft 365 tools
- Experience applying digital solutions to improve governance, reporting, or workflow efficiency
- An interest in AI and emerging technologies within programme delivery
- Working towards or interested in professional qualifications such as APM, PRINCE2, MSP, Primavera P6, Project Controls, Earned Value Management, or Data Analytics certifications
