As a graduate at Stantec, you will join a truly multidisciplinary team working on water and wastewater treatment, storm overflows, flood alleviation and urban drainage. You will support the development of innovative and sustainable solutions that help protect the water environment and maintain public water supply.

You will primarily support our Scottish Water framework and may also work with established Stantec teams across the country, supporting project stages from asset planning, strategy and concept through to outline and detailed design for clients including Northumbrian Water, Yorkshire Water and United Utilities, including major Scottish Water investment programmes such as the Improving Urban Waters Programme and West Central Bioresources Project.

Our city centre office on Morrison Street is located close to Haymarket train station and other transport hubs. You will join a vibrant office environment and become part of the local multi-sector Developing Professionals Group, which provides peer support, mentoring and guidance as you learn, develop and grow as a Graduate Civil Engineer.

About The Role

Working as part of a friendly and collaborative team, with support and guidance from Senior and Principal Civil Engineers, you will solve engineering problems and support the development of designs across water-sector projects. Your day-to-day work may include engineering calculations, design development, drawings, technical reports, presentations and site visits.

  • Supporting Scottish Water framework projects across water and wastewater treatment, storm overflows, flood alleviation and urban drainage.

  • Developing your technical capability through project work, mentoring, the graduate development programme and the local Developing Professionals Group.

We are committed to supporting employees in achieving relevant professional qualifications and accreditation. You’ll be given dedicated mentoring to support you in your journey to Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers, or CIWEM where appropriate.
