As a Senior Consultant, you will play a leading role in supporting the mobilisation, assurance and delivery improvement of major capital programmes across the UK energy sector. You’ll work at the heart of complex investment programmes, helping clients strengthen governance, controls, planning and delivery capability, while engaging closely with senior leadership teams and key stakeholders.

Our Programme Management Group has a strong track record of delivering advisory and transformation services across the UK’s energy, water and transport sectors. As demand continues to grow, this role offers the opportunity to lead high‑value assignments, shape delivery approaches and contribute to the continued growth of our programme management capability.

About the Role

As a Senior Consultant, you will take ownership of client‑facing workstreams focused on programme mobilisation, governance, PMO and delivery improvement. You will work across a range of complex capital investment portfolios, providing practical, insight‑led advice to help clients improve programme performance. You will be responsible for:

  • Leading programme management, PMO or governance workstreams on major capital programmes
  • Designing and embedding governance, controls, reporting and assurance frameworks tailored to client needs
  • Providing informed challenge and practical advice on planning, risk, issues, dependencies and change management
  • Supporting senior client stakeholders through performance reporting, decision‑making materials and governance forums
  • Mobilising and improving PMO capability, including ways of working, controls maturity and management information
  • Contributing to proposals, client presentations, thought leadership and wider business development activity
  • Supporting and developing junior colleagues within the team

You will work as part of a collaborative programme management team delivering across key frameworks and commissions, with opportunities to broaden your experience across our wider Advisory service lines.

Your Impact

In this role, you will directly influence the successful delivery of some of the UK’s most significant energy investment programmes. Your work will help clients:

  • Improve programme governance, transparency and control
  • Strengthen delivery capability and decision‑making
  • Increase confidence in programme performance and outcomes
  • Build sustainable PMO and programme management capability

Internally, you will play an important role in shaping how we deliver programme management services, supporting team development and contributing to the continued growth and reputation of our Advisory Services offering.

About You

You will have relevant experience in programme management, PMO, project controls or capital delivery, gained within a consultancy environment or working on large‑scale infrastructure programmes. You will hold a degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline such as Project Management, Business Management, Engineering, Science or Technology. You are analytical, commercially aware and delivery‑focused, with the ability to bring structure and clarity to complex programme environments. You can confidently engage with senior stakeholders, facilitate discussions and clearly communicate insights and recommendations through high‑quality written and visual materials.

You will bring:

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working in fast‑paced, dynamic environments and balancing multiple priorities
  • Advanced skills across the Microsoft Office suite, particularly in producing reports, presentations and decision‑support materials
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a desire to take on meaningful responsibility

Professional accreditation such as APM, MSP, P3O, PRINCE2 or equivalent would be advantageous, and we actively support continued professional development and accreditation. If you are looking to combine strong programme delivery expertise with advisory insight and client‑facing responsibility, we would love to hear from you.
