We are looking for a dedicated individual to join Stantec as a Principal Designer and CDM Advisor.

This role offers a chance to significantly contribute to the UK's energy transition.

You will join a dynamic, multi‑disciplinary team working on cutting‑edge hydropower and pumped storage hydro solutions as varied as Coire Glas in Scotland, Koysha in Ethiopia, and Dinorwig in Wales, as well as other wider energy projects across energy from waste, nuclear, hydrogen generation and transmission and distribution.

As a Principal Designer and CDM Advisor, responsibilities outlined under CDM 2015, including where necessary carrying out the role of CDM Advisor to support our clients.

This role demands a deep understanding of design and construction processes and effective communication skills.

You must be well‑versed in the legal requirements of CDM and other relevant legislation.

About You

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant construction, health and safety, or engineering discipline.

Chartered status and additional Health and Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH are preferred.

  • Experience: Proven experience in a consultancy environment, with the ability to coach and mentor junior team members and collaborate across the business.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of innovative solutions and industry best practices, with experience in managing projects from concept to completion and in-depth knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Passion: A commitment to sustainability and a desire to make a positive environmental impact.
