As we navigate 2026, the challenges facing our environment have never been more complex—or more rewarding to solve. Recently recognised as a global leader in sustainable business practices and a key delivery partner for the UK’s most ambitious frameworks, we are looking for thinkers in the North West and Yorkshire who share our vision.
We are seeking a motivated Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our Ground Assessment team based in our Warrington and Leeds offices. This is a pivotal time to join us; with the AMP8 water cycle in full swing—working closely with clients like United Utilities and Yorkshire Water, you will be working on projects that define the next decade of UK infrastructure.
The Ground Assessment team provides critical geo-environmental and geotechnical services across our multidisciplinary portfolio. From the detailed design of Integrated Constructed Wetlands to major urban regeneration and community developments, you will ensure that land quality and sustainability are baked into every stage of the project lifecycle.
In this role, you will provide technical expertise that bridges the gap between site data and sustainable infrastructure delivery. Your focus will include:
- Specialist Input: Providing technical assessments for materials characterisation, Phase I and II investigations, and contaminated land management.
- Integrated Design: Collaborating with our "One Water" and Infrastructure teams to implement nature-based solutions that reduce carbon and enhance biodiversity.
- Digital Integration: Utilising Stantec.io and advanced data analytics to create smarter, more efficient ground models and risk assessments.
- Professional Growth: Depending on your experience, you will have the opportunity to support project management, engage with key client relationships, and contribute to our strategic business development as we further diversify into the water sector.
About You: You will likely hold a degree in Earth Sciences, Environmental Science, or a related Engineering discipline. You are either already a Chartered member of a relevant professional institution—such as the Geological Society or Institution of Environmental Sciences—or you are actively and demonstrably working toward that milestone, a journey we are fully committed to supporting through our dedicated mentoring programs.
Your professional foundation is built on solid experience in land quality evaluation and contaminated site management specifically within a UK consultancy environment. What truly sets you apart is your ability to act as a bridge between data and delivery, translating complex technical information into clear, actionable advice for our clients, stakeholders, and joint venture partners.
Above all, you bring an innovation-led mindset and a drive to challenge "business as usual," constantly seeking out more efficient and sustainable ways to deliver excellence in an ever-evolving industry.
