We are looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Birmingham office. The role would suit a Civil Engineer who wants to take their next step in their career within an industry leading consultancy by working on exciting projects across the water sector and by leading the civil engineering team in the region.

You will join our team based in Birmingham to predominately work on Severn Trent Water’s AMP8 CSO programme but also on a wide variety of studies centred around a thorough knowledge of urban drainage and its role within the wider water cycle and urban landscape. You will deliver projects which improve water quality, manage urban pollution, and contribute to Stantec’s and our clients’ environmental commitments.

Our Civil Engineers work across the project lifecycle in asset planning/strategy, concept design, outline and detailed design. We work in a variety of project areas within the water sector, including clean water treatment and water networks, wastewater treatment and wastewater infrastructure. Our civil engineering teams are involved in major projects such as Johnson Street Storm Overflow Screening Project, Abberton Reservoir Scheme and award winning projects such as the Clifton Integrated Constructed Wetland and Kings Scholars Pond Sewer Rehabilitation.

You will be responsible for civil engineering design, leadership of engineering teams on projects working alongside multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery and outcomes for our clients. Also, working alongside the local leadership team, as the Regional Discipline Lead you will also be responsible for leading the local civil engineering team and ensuring the team’s continued professional development and growth.

About You

You’ll have prior experience as a Civil Engineer in an engineering design role. You will ideally have Chartered status with a relevant professional body such as ICE or CIWEM. You will have a passion for the water and environment sector and supporting our developing civil engineers. You’ll also be experienced in successful project delivery and working collaboratively with clients and project teams to develop and deliver innovative engineering solutions.
