We have a job available within our on-site team at Watt Close in Andover for a Mechanical Design Engineer. Candidates must be within reasonable commuting distance to attend Andover each day and must have the unrestricted right to work, as sponsorship is not offered. Ideal candidates will be experienced in the design, development, and testing of mechanical or electro-mechanical systems that include safety crucial elements, and will be able to produce technical drawings to quality standards with an emphasis on design for manufacture and assembly.

Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Develop all aspects of mechanical design solutions for new and legacy products to corporate and international standards.
  • Produce detailed design documentation to support validation of design solutions.
  • Analyse requirements and designs using FMEA process.
  • Assess the safety of product designs using Product Safety Hazard Analysis process.
  • Produce technical documentation for production, installation, and service.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Qualifications: HNC/Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline relevant to mechanical engineering.
  • Experience working with CAD (preferably Creo) and PLM (preferably Windchill), drafting to BS8888 or other equivalent/relevant standard.
