Stannah has an exciting opportunity for a Material Control Operative to join the Manufacturing department based at Stephenson Close, Andover. This role will involve overseeing inventory control activities to keep stock levels efficient and records accurate. It works closely with purchasing, goods inwards, and dispatch to ensure smooth operations, including other reasonable duties as needed.

As the Material Control Operative, you will work Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:45, Friday 08:00 - 13:00. This is a permanent contract. To be successful as a Material Control Operative, it is essential that you have previous experience within a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Experience of Kanban systems, stock control, and material replenishment processes would be desirable.

Material Control Operative Responsibilities:
  • Movement of Goods using correct Manual Handling and use of a Forklift
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety policies, environmental standards, and safe systems of work
  • Raising Purchase Orders, checking stocks potential shortages, overdue items
  • Accurate checking of stock locations being loaded and picked from
  • Required to be multi-skilled to cover other areas of the department
Material Control Operative Requirements:
  • Experience in a modern manufacturing/warehouse environment
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and continuous improvement processes
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically fit and able to lift and manoeuvre goods safely
  • Proactive, adaptable and computer literate with strong communication skills
  • Forklift experience mandatory (previous in-house acceptable as further training will be given)
