Stannah have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Engineering Department based at Pioneer Road, Andover. This job will involve developing and improving mechanical design solutions for new and existing products, supporting manufacturing activities, maintaining engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs), and ensuring designs comply with relevant product standards and safety requirements.
As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work 37 hours Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:45, Friday 08:00 to 13:00. This job is a permanent contract. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to contribute to innovative product development projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
To be successful as the Mechanical Design Engineer, it is essential that you have previous experience in mechanical design and development within a manufacturing environment. Experience in safety-critical products, ERP systems, and SolidWorks would be desirable.
Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:- Develop and improve mechanical design solutions for new and existing products.
- Support manufacturing by maintaining production drawings and engineering documentation.
- Manage and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), attend line trials, and support product changes.
- Produce technical documentation for production, installation, and service teams.
- Assess product safety and ensure designs meet required standards and compliance requirements.
- HNC, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience designing and developing mechanical or electro-mechanical components within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency using CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, with a strong understanding of tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, material selection, FEA techniques, and BOM management.
