We are looking for a commercially minded lawyer to join our Legal, Risk & Compliance team at Stannah. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with around 3 years' PQE who is looking to build on a strong commercial legal foundation while developing specialist expertise in compliance, risk and sustainability within an international organisation.
Working with stakeholders across the UK and international businesses, you'll help strengthen our compliance framework, support ESG initiatives and ensure legal and regulatory obligations are managed consistently and effectively across the Group. This is a varied role that offers genuine breadth, exposure to international markets and the opportunity to develop your career in both legal, compliance and sustainability disciplines.

What you’ll be doing
- Compliance & Sustainability – with a chance to build, influence and work directly with clients across the business as a key member of the team from start.
- Interpret legal, regulatory and sustainability requirements and support their practical implementation across the business.
- Develop, maintain and roll out compliance policies, procedures and frameworks.
- Support compliance monitoring, risk assessments, audits and investigations.
- Advise on third-party due diligence and supply chain compliance activities.
- Deliver compliance training, awareness programmes and horizon-scanning initiatives.
- Support reporting, governance processes and continuous improvement activities.
Key Areas of Focus
You’ll play an active role in helping us navigate an evolving compliance and sustainability landscape, providing commercial legal advice across all business areas, including on:
- Anti-bribery and corruption, fraud prevention and whistleblowing.
- Data protection, privacy and AI governance.
- Competition law, consumer protection and regulatory compliance.
- Trade compliance, sanctions and export controls.
- ESG requirements in procurement.
- Sustainability reporting, environmental compliance and green claims.
- Producer responsibility and environmental requirements.
- Modern slavery, human rights and supply chain due diligence.
- ESG governance, disclosures and board reporting.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent jurisdiction).
- Around 3 years’ post-qualification experience.
- Strong commercial legal experience gained in private practice or in-house.
- Excellent research, analytical and drafting skills – but also the ability to translate complex legal requirements into pragmatic and clear business guidance.
- Ability to communicate complex legal issues in a practical and commercial way.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable
- Exposure to compliance areas such as anti-bribery, data protection, competition law or regulatory compliance.
- Exposure to ESG or sustainability matters.
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or regulated business environment.
- Additional European language skills.
