Stannah has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Curved Rail Manufacture Department based in Newburn. This role involves supporting day‑to‑day production processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and enhancing productivity, quality, efficiency, and safety across operations. You will play a key role in optimising manufacturing workflows and contributing to business‑as‑usual improvements and longer‑term new product introduction (NPI) activities. Working full‑time, Monday – Thursday: 07:15 – 15:45, Friday: 07:15 – 12:15. This is a permanent contract. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to develop their skills within a dynamic manufacturing environment, contributing to innovative projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

To be successful, it is essential that you have previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, CAD (SolidWorks), and ERP systems would be desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support for day‑to‑day technical process issues in production
  • Develop and optimise manufacturing workflows and procedures
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Lean Six Sigma)
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Support the design and implementation of new processes, equipment, and projects
  • Produce production documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work
Qualifications
  • HNC or Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline (desirable)
  • Experience within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Knowledge of process optimisation and continuous improvement methods
  • Experience using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience with ERP systems and data management tools
