This role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of one of the three Group IT delivery portfolios, ensuring technology initiatives are aligned to business priorities and delivered successfully.

Working within a matrix IT organisation, you will collaborate with senior business stakeholders, IT leaders and delivery teams to create and execute a strategic portfolio roadmap that drives business outcomes and continuous improvement.

As the

Head of IT Portfolio Delivery , you will work Monday to Thursday 08:30-17:15 and Friday 08:30-13:30. This is a permanent position based in Andover, Hampshire. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement with travel expected depending on business needs.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced IT portfolio, programme or transformation leader who thrives in a strategic, stakeholder-facing role and is looking to make a significant impact across a complex, multi-business environment.

To be successful as the

Head of IT Portfolio Delivery , it is essential that you have previous experience leading complex IT delivery portfolios or major programmes within a matrix organisation.

Experience working with enterprise delivery frameworks such as MSP, Mo P, PRINCE2, Agile or SAFe would be highly desirable.

  • Head of IT Portfolio Delivery Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end delivery roadmap for your portfolio, translating business priorities into a resourced and sequenced programme of work.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for portfolio outcomes, monitoring progress, costs, risks, dependencies and benefits realisation.
  • Partner with Business Systems, IT Operations and PMO teams to secure resources and successfully deliver strategic technology initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with senior business sponsors and stakeholders, translating business strategy into credible and achievable delivery plans.
  • Lead portfolio governance, reporting and planning activities, providing clear updates to the CIO, IT Leadership Team and business sponsors.
  • Head of IT Portfolio Delivery Requirements
  • Minimum of five years' experience leading complex IT delivery portfolios, large-scale programmes or business transformation initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of portfolio, programme and project management methodologies including MSP, Mo P, PRINCE2, Agile or SAFe.
  • Experience managing portfolio budgets, delivery governance, benefits tracking, RAID management and executive-level reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to lead delivery through a matrix organisational structure.
