Overall purpose of the job: Manage the Street Works Team to ensure the team are successfully processing work stops, registrations, and general permit management for the UKPN contract, in the timeframes stipulated in the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and Traffic Management Act 2004 and superseding Street Manager regulations, ensuring SQS internal processes are followed.
To ensure the successful management of compliance auditing during the closure process, whilst ensuring areas of concern are immediately addressed, productivity managed, applicable safety nets are built and lessons learnt are efficiently cascaded to the group.
To manage, implement and monitor operational Street Works processes across the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the Street Works Team provide our Partners with closure details via Ontrack, specific Street Manager interfaces in the time frames stipulated in the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and Traffic Management Act 2004, and superseding Street Manager regulations.
- Ensure the Street Works Team manage any other permitting requirement, including variations, extensions etc. in the time frames stipulated in the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and Traffic Management Act 2004 and superseding Street Manager regulations.
- Monitor the amount of work processed by each administrator, ensuring the team are processing sufficient amounts of data and being as efficient as possible.
- Provide ongoing training, including reviewing charges received, to ensure FPN's/Section 74 charges are not caused by the Street Works Team.
- Implementation and enforcement of processes ensuring our working practices fall in line with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and superseding Street Manager regulations.
- Driving better behaviours in regard to Street Works processes and reducing the risk of Street Works Charges.
- Undertake Operative/Planner/Reinstatement Manager Training in conjunction with Charge Management Team, Compliance Team, the Head of Street Works and Head of Performance.
- Manage, monitor, and implement Street Works/Operational Street Works processes across new and existing contracts.
- Work closely with the Operations/Commercial teams to assist the co-ordination of the Utility Projects works.
- Constantly reviewing process and procedures to find improvements and efficiencies.
This role is primarily office-based, with the potential for a hybrid working arrangement.
