Overall purpose of the job

To support the effective monitoring & administration of Street Works charges across all contracts.

The role is responsible for accurate processing, recording & analysis of charge data, ensuring compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA), Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA), & associated Codes of Practice.

The position will produce insight through data analysis, including identifying trends, recurring issues and potential risks, which will help & enabling senior management to make informed decisions & drive improvements in performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process, accurately record & analyse all street works charges across the Group within the timeframes stipulated in the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 Code of Practice for Inspections and other relevant legislation or guidance.
  • Maintain accurate & timely updates on Ontrack, other relevant systems & within partner KPI.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of charges including OG’s/lessons learnt issued.
  • Prepare & submit charge challenges to Local Authorities & clients, ensuring all supporting evidence (e. g. photos, records, documentation) is collated and presented.

  • Root causes
  • Contract‑specific trends
  • Highlight insights, risks & recurring themes clearly to Street Works Quality Manager & Head of Performance.
  • Support the Street Works Quality Manager & Head of Performance with training sessions where needed.
  • Support operational, planning and reinstatement teams with charge queries, guidance & best practice.
  • To be cross trained with the Defect Prevention Analyst processing/analysing defects & raising permits in accordance with the relevant legislation.

  • Provide visibility of overall charge exposure across contracts.
  • Highlight recurring issues & repeat failures within charge data.
  • Support consistency through accurate reporting & standardised data.

Enable teams to improve right-first-time performance reporting.
