Stanlo Construction is a growing principal contractor delivering fast-paced, high‑quality retail, commercial and hospitality fit-out projects across the UK. With a strong pipeline of repeat work — particularly across London and the South East — we are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to take ownership of multiple projects and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
Operating within a non-corporate, agile environment, this role offers genuine autonomy, direct client engagement and the opportunity to work with leading blue-chip clients across established frameworks.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will oversee the operational delivery of multiple concurrent projects, typically ranging from £500k to £2m, ensuring each scheme is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. You will lead site teams, coordinate internal and external stakeholders, and maintain full oversight of programme, performance and contractual compliance across your portfolio. This is a hands-on, site-based role suited to a driven individual who thrives in fast-track environments and takes ownership of project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Project & Operational Delivery
- Oversee the delivery of multiple fit-out projects from pre-start through to completion
- Drive programme performance, sequencing and site progress to meet key milestones
- Ensure quality standards are consistently achieved across all sites
- Identify and manage project risks, implementing proactive mitigation strategies
- Commercial & Contractual Management
- Manage contractual aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with client and contract requirements
- Work closely with the commercial team to monitor costs, variations and financial performance
- Support cost control and programme alignment throughout the project lifecycle
- Contribute to successful project outcomes and final account completion
- Team Leadership & Site Management
- Lead and support Site Managers and site teams across multiple projects
- Ensure consistent standards in site management, reporting and delivery processes
- Mentor, coach and develop team members, fostering a high-performance culture
- Promote effective communication and collaboration across all project teams
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders
- Act as a key point of contact throughout project delivery, ensuring expectations are met and exceeded
- Represent Stanlo professionally across all client interactions
- Planning, Systems & Compliance
- Ensure health and safety is prioritised and managed across all projects in line with company and statutory requirements
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting and records using Procore and Microsoft Project
- Coordinate project information flow to ensure timely delivery and decision-making
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Proven experience working as a Contracts Manager, or Senior Site / Project Manager stepping up, within a main contractor environment
- Strong experience delivering fit-out projects across retail, commercial or hospitality sectors
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of programme management, sequencing and site logistics
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Confident client-facing with strong relationship management capability
- SMSTS certification
- CSCS card, appropriate level
- Full UK driving licence and right to work
Desirable
- Experience operating within fast-track, high-volume delivery environments
- Familiarity with Procore, Microsoft Project or similar systems
- Strong knowledge of D&B contracts and fit-out methodologies
- IOSH qualification
- Degree and/or NVQ in Construction Management or related discipline
