We are looking to recruit an experienced manufacturing production operative for a local client, with understanding and experience of manufacturing processes and best practice techniques. This is a semi-skilled role and the ideal candidate will have some fitter style experience. 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of some work away odd days of the year.
The ideal candidate will perform:
- Pneumatic and Hydraulic hoses testing
- Offsite hose testing on customer sites
- Write reports on outcome of the tests
- Advise if new hose is required or can be repaired
- Operate the Laser Engraving Machine to engrave
- Operate machinery such as swaging machines, hose cutters, shrink wrapping burners, pelleting machines alongside basic power tools
- Assist in the creation of a safe and efficient working environment by supporting improvement activities
- Maintain and improve the 5’s programme
- Work according to standards and support the optimisation of new work practices setting new standards
- Assist with all other aspects of the implementation of the Operating System
Previous experience of working with hoses is preferred; however, experience of assembly and taking mechanical items apart, using the correct tools is essential, with previous employment in a similar background. Initially, this is on a temporary basis, but may become permanent for the right candidate.
