Part Time Tax Assistant (Mat Cover)

We are a chartered certified accountants who have recently moved into brand-new offices, based in Queens Road, Buckhurst Hill, Essex.

JOB SPECIFICATION

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Part Time Tax Assistant to join our fun and friendly team. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills and previous Tax experience within a practicing accounting firm.

The successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with Personal Tax and Compliance work within our Tax Department. This role is crucial in supporting the overall financial health of the organisation and requires proficiency in various accounting software.

Working as part of an established team, this is an office-based role that will require you to work part-time, 20 hours a week (mat cover).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Your key responsibilities and duties will be as follows:

• The preparation and submission of Self-Assessment Tax Returns which may sometimes include the preparation of small Rental/Self Employment accounts.
• The preparation of ATED Returns.
• The preparation of Forms P11D.
• Dealing with correspondence to and from HMRC, including tax enquiries and disclosures.
• Giving Ad-hoc tax advice to the clients.

QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY SKILLS

• Previous Tax experience is essential
• Proficiency in Personal Taxation software
• Strong understanding of accounts
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with various stakeholders
