As a Corporate Counsel, Regulatory, you’ll be part of our Legal team working as a hybrid employee. You’ll provide day‑to‑day legal counsel to business stakeholders on global product regulations and help ensure compliance across our product portfolio.
Responsibilities- Provide day‑to‑day legal counsel to business stakeholders on a broad range of regulatory compliance subjects with a focus on global product regulations (in Europe specifically).
- Support and report to the Associate General Counsel, Antitrust & Regulatory.
- Provide legal advice and counsel on global product compliance regulations applicable to Stanley Black & Decker’s business and products.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research on product regulations, obligations and directives, primarily but not exclusively in Europe and North America.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Product Compliance, Quality, Engineering, Environmental and ESG) to provide guidance on requirements related to product development, commercialization and distribution to ensure legal compliance.
- Identify, interpret and monitor legislative developments to advise and support business leaders in managing and adhering to regulatory compliance obligations.
- Work with members of the Legal Department to manage and resolve regulatory inquiries, issues and disputes, including potential claims against or by the company.
- Juris Doctor (JD), Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution.
- Admission to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. state or European jurisdiction is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience practicing regulatory law at a large law firm, within a corporate legal department or in a governmental agency.
- Knowledge of product regulatory requirements applicable to global manufacturers.
- Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of regulatory matters.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and to manage multiple dynamic projects.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (written and oral) clearly with stakeholders.
- A commitment to professionalism, integrity, and collegiality.
- Experience guiding businesses or stakeholders on European product regulations and directives impacting consumer and industrial products.
