A traditional 19th century coastal pub with rooms on the Wirral bank of the stunning Dee estuary, providing sanctuary and refreshment to locals and visitors alike for over two centuries. Sympathetically improved in recent years, creating a timeless light and airy pub, staffed by a crew who strive to give warm and genuine hospitality. The Ship is located on the quayside of the former Georgian port of Parkgate in Cheshire, enjoying charming views over the Dee Marshes to North Wales. Upstairs we have a number of smart comfortable rooms, with a handful of front rooms facing the Marshes.
We are incredibly proud of our talented chefs and recognise and encourage passion and creativity within our kitchen teams. We are looking for a junior sous chef with bags of enthusiasm and a healthy helping of flair and creativity to lead our kitchen. Fine dining, we are not, but quality well executed fresh food is very much what we’re about. Our food is fresh, hearty and interesting, with a menu that reflects the seasons & our location, which helps ensure sustainability and prevents our customers and kitchen team getting bored. Our constantly evolving menu is a combination of well-loved classics and more interesting dishes taking influence from all over the world. Our head chefs create their own menus and welcome ideas from all the team, allowing them the opportunity to develop some of their own dishes and indulge their passions.

What we're looking for:
A creative and talented chef with a passion for working with fresh ingredients from local suppliers, a passion for helping to lead and develop a great team and above all else, a passion for cooking imaginative dishes for our customers. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef de partie, looking for an exciting and challenging role. Previous experience of working in a similar kitchen is essential as we know you’ll have the attitude and work ethos we’re looking for – a junior sous chef who shares our love of everything foody and brings passion and flair to the kitchen.
