Situated just off the A9 in majestic Highland Perthshire, my client is Scotland's most celebrated department store. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to play a key leadership role within their finance team. Reporting to our Head of Finance, the Deputy Head of Finance will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business while helping to drive performance, accuracy and continuous improvement across the department.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical finance expertise with excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Support the leadership and development of the finance team, providing guidance, mentoring and day-to-day supervision
- Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts, year-end accounts and financial reporting
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls and company procedures
- Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors where required
- Analyse financial data and provide insight to support commercial decision-making
- Work collaboratively with department managers across the business to improve financial processes and performance
- Support implementation of financial systems and process improvements
- Deputise for the Head of Finance when required
Previous experience in a senior finance or management accounting role is essential. Accounting qualifications or part/full qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent preferred) are also required, along with strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls. Experience using financial systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is necessary.
