This position is based on Stanford’s main campus with consideration given to the option for a hybrid work schedule (partially onsite and offsite), subject to operational need. About the Precourt Institute for Energy: The Precourt Institute for Energy concentrates the talents of the University on energy research and education, from basic science and technology to policy and business. It disseminates research results and helps the University develop energy‑literate leaders as part of its educational mission. The Institute works across campus and builds collaborations globally with industry, other research institutions, government, and civic organizations to pursue sustainable, affordable, secure energy for all people.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Lead and execute the Shultz Energy Fellowships, Schneider Sustainable Energy Fellowships, and SUPER in collaboration with campus partners and off‑campus organizations, sustaining and expanding these efforts and providing stakeholder engagement and fundraising support.
  • Engage students, develop strong connections with them, and cultivate enthusiasm for the programs.
  • Build partnerships and relationships between the Precourt Institute for Energy and California agencies such as the California Energy Commission and California Public Utilities Commission for public policy engagement and research.
  • Create positive, meaningful programs for Stanford students to navigate their connections with energy on campus.
  • Develop streamlined workflows to manage tasks and resources for growing programs.
  • Build awareness and visibility of the programs across campus, including marketing and outreach to student‑facing groups.
  • Build and nurture relationships across Stanford’s energy ecosystem, especially with external partners.
  • Mentor students, connect them to resources and opportunities, and help them chart a path forward based on their interests.
  • Manage Course Assistants and other student hires, including running team meetings and delegating tasks.
  • Develop and grow new efforts, such as an Alumni Advisory Board for the fellowship programs.
  • Manage and track fellowship program budgets starting at $250,000, including supporting the Assistant Director in developing comprehensive budget proposals and reports.
  • Collaborate with other managers and leadership at the Precourt Institute, particularly the Explore Energy team.

To Be Successful In This Position, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and multi‑task.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and own projects.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound judgment in making decisions.
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant subject‑matter knowledge.

Pay Range: Expected pay range for this position is $100,023 – $124,516 per annum.
