I am partnered with a leading technology driven, quantitative hedge fund who are seeking an experienced Database Engineer with ClickHouse expertise. You would be responsible for managing and optimising large-scale database systems supporting research and trading activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain ClickHouse clusters across distributed environments
- Configure replication, sharding, and coordination services (Keeper/ZooKeeper)
- Handle data lifecycle: partitioning, TTL, and merge operations
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise query performance
- Manage server resources: CPU, memory, and disk
- Design high availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Enforce access controls and security policies
- Support streaming and batch data ingestion pipelines
Requirements
- 5+ years as a DBA in production environments
- Hands-on experience with distributed/clustered ClickHouse
- Confident tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting at scale, with a solid understanding of HA and disaster recovery
- Strong SQL, Linux/UNIX, familiarity with streaming pipelines like Kafka, and exposure to PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
