One of the most technically sophisticated electronic trading firms is seeking an exceptional C++ Engineer to help architect and develop the low-latency systems at the heart of its global trading platform. This is an opportunity to solve some of the most challenging engineering problems in financial markets, building performance-critical infrastructure where microseconds, reliability and architectural decisions have a direct impact on trading performance.

You'll work across the entire electronic trading lifecycle, developing the distributed systems responsible for market data, pricing, order routing, execution and real-time risk management. This is a founding engineering position offering greenfield technical ownership, architectural influence and the opportunity to shape the evolution of a sophisticated trading platform.

What you'll be doing:

  • Architecting and developing high-performance trading systems using modern C++
  • Building latency-critical infrastructure across market data, pricing, execution and order management

  • Optimising performance across CPU utilisation, memory management, network I/O and thread contention
  • Engineering robust messaging infrastructure connecting critical components of the trading platform
  • Profiling and benchmarking systems to improve latency, throughput and operational resilience
  • Driving architectural decisions and delivering complex engineering projects from design through production

You bring:

  • Exceptional modern C++ development skills, ideally C++17/20
  • Experience designing and building performance-critical distributed systems
  • Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency and low-level systems programming
  • Experience optimising latency-sensitive applications through profiling and performance analysis
  • Strong Linux systems knowledge and understanding of networking fundamentals
  • Experience with market data, exchange connectivity or electronic trading infrastructure would be highly valuable
