We’re recruiting a Business Development Executive to manage and grow our Pladis across Glasgow & surrounding areas. You’ll build strong relationships with store decision‑makers, negotiate additional displays, increase distribution and visibility, and drive sales for well‑known household brands. About the Pladis Account and Team
Would you like to represent a business where you’ll have some of the world’s most loved snacking brands at your fingertips? Whether it’s McVitie’s, Ülker, GODIVA, Verkade or Jacob’s, you’ll be working with brands that have stood the test of time and brands that have over 300 years of combined baking experience. Standout Field Marketing have a fantastic opportunity to join our new Pladis Convenience Field Sales Team.
As a Business Development Executive, your role will be to increase visibility of key Pladis brands. You will be representing a wide range of Pladis brands in store with McVities biscuits and brands such as Jaffa Cakes and Flipz - and you will play a huge role in helping Pladis drive sales by working to increase distribution and actively selling into key contacts within your assigned territory. You will visit your designated cash and carry regularly to purchase stock and sell into your retailers within your call file.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Business Development Executive, you’ll take full ownership of your area, working closely with the Regional Sales Manager and a supportive field team to deliver against agreed KPIs. Your key responsibilities include:
- Managing a territory and planning visits around store manager availability to maximise opportunities
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with store managers and key decision‑makers
- Negotiating additional displays and promotional activity
- Driving distribution, availability and compliance across the agreed product ranges
- Executing merchandising activity in line with brand guidelines
- Actively selling and promoting products to maximise sales and visibility
- Using sales data to track performance and identify growth opportunities
What We’re Looking For
We are ideally looking for a candidate who has the following skills and experience, but if you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly, we still encourage you to apply - you might be just the right person for our team. You’ll need:
- Experience working in field sales or similar role
- Strong communication skills and confidence influencing stakeholders
- Excellent time management and territory planning ability
- Be self‑motivated and results‑driven
- A full UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 points and no previous bans)
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in Retail
- Merchandising or POS execution experience
- Direct selling skills
