Position: Standish St Wilfrid’s CE Primary Academy, Rectory Lane, Standish, Wigan, WN6 0XB.

Roles and Salary:

  • HLTA and Playleader – one person will take up both roles.
  • HLTA: Grade 6, £20,510 - £22,633 per annum. 30 hours per week, term time plus one week working 39 weeks per year.
  • Playleader: Grade 4, £1,776 - £1,862 per annum (£13.26 - £13.90 per hour). 3 hours per week, term time plus one week working 39 weeks per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality classroom cover across Nursery to Year 6.
  • Plan and deliver engaging Computing lessons to pupils from Year 2 to Year 6.
  • Support the development and implementation of the school’s Computing curriculum.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to class teachers and school leaders.
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs and barriers to learning.
  • Promote positive behaviour and high expectations for learning.
  • Support engaging activities within the before and after school Kidz Klub provision for three sessions per week.

Qualifications:

  • Meets Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Experience of planning and delivering lessons to whole classes.
  • Confidence in teaching Computing across the primary age range.
  • Commitment to inclusion and ensuring every child can succeed.
  • Ability to work flexibly across different year groups and phases.
  • Ability to support the school’s Christian values and ethos.

Hours and Schedule:

  • Monday: 8.45am to 3.15pm (HLTA) 30‑minute lunch.
  • Tuesday: 8.45am to 3.15pm (HLTA) 30‑minute lunch; 7.45-8.45am (Play Leader).
  • Wednesday: 8.45am to 3.15pm (HLTA) 30‑minute lunch.
  • Thursday: 8.45am to 3.15pm (HLTA) 30‑minute lunch; 7.45-8.45am (Play Leader).
  • Friday: 8.45am to 3.15pm (HLTA) 30‑minute lunch; 7.45-8.45am (Play Leader).
