Position: Standish St Wilfrid’s CE Primary Academy, Rectory Lane, Standish, Wigan, WN6 0XB.
Roles and Salary:
- HLTA and Playleader – one person will take up both roles.
- HLTA: Grade 6, £20,510 - £22,633 per annum. 30 hours per week, term time plus one week working 39 weeks per year.
- Playleader: Grade 4, £1,776 - £1,862 per annum (£13.26 - £13.90 per hour). 3 hours per week, term time plus one week working 39 weeks per year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality classroom cover across Nursery to Year 6.
- Plan and deliver engaging Computing lessons to pupils from Year 2 to Year 6.
- Support the development and implementation of the school’s Computing curriculum.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to class teachers and school leaders.
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs and barriers to learning.
- Promote positive behaviour and high expectations for learning.
- Support engaging activities within the before and after school Kidz Klub provision for three sessions per week.
Qualifications:
- Meets Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Experience of planning and delivering lessons to whole classes.
- Confidence in teaching Computing across the primary age range.
- Commitment to inclusion and ensuring every child can succeed.
- Ability to work flexibly across different year groups and phases.
- Ability to support the school’s Christian values and ethos.
Hours and Schedule:
- Monday: 8.45am to 3.15pm (HLTA) 30‑minute lunch.
- Tuesday: 8.45am to 3.15pm (HLTA) 30‑minute lunch; 7.45-8.45am (Play Leader).
- Wednesday: 8.45am to 3.15pm (HLTA) 30‑minute lunch.
- Thursday: 8.45am to 3.15pm (HLTA) 30‑minute lunch; 7.45-8.45am (Play Leader).
- Friday: 8.45am to 3.15pm (HLTA) 30‑minute lunch; 7.45-8.45am (Play Leader).
