As a Regional Manager, you will take responsibility for the operational performance of a group of contracts and teams across your region. You will provide leadership to Managers and their teams, ensuring that services are delivered consistently, contractual requirements are met and performance, quality and financial objectives are achieved. This is a varied senior operational role where you will combine people leadership, performance management, data analysis, quality improvement, commercial awareness and stakeholder management to help our services and people perform at their best.
What you will do as a Regional Manager:
- Lead the operational performance of contracts, Managers and teams across your region
- Ensure agreed performance, quality, service-delivery and financial targets are achieved
- Analyse Management Information, performance data and KPIs to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
- Develop and implement effective action plans and Performance Improvement Plans where required
- Lead, support and hold Managers accountable for performance, development and delivery
- Monitor the quality of appraisals, reviews and performance-management activity
- Work closely with Human Resources to support appropriate staffing, employee relations, attendance and performance
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain consistently high standards of customer service
- Ensure Quality Assurance systems, contractual requirements and relevant standards are understood and followed
- Oversee the quality and timeliness of Management Information, statistical returns, claims, reconciliation and audit activity
- Manage operational resources effectively and work within agreed budgets
- Maintain effective relationships with Prime Contractors, commissioners, partners and external agencies
- Ensure safe and inclusive working environments and compliance with safeguarding, health and safety and equality requirements
- Identify and share good practice across teams and the wider organisation
- Support business development, service improvement, bid-writing and new opportunities where appropriate
- Represent Standguide positively with external partners and stakeholders
What you will need:
- Level 2 English and Maths as a minimum, or equivalent
- Education to degree level or equivalent relevant management and operational experience
- Significant operational-management experience within a performance and target-driven environment
- Experience of managing Managers and providing leadership across teams, services, contracts or multiple operational locations
- A strong track record of achieving performance, quality and service-delivery targets
- Experience of analysing performance data and KPIs and turning findings into effective action
- Experience of managing employee performance, including development, appraisals, reviews and underperformance
- Experience of managing resources and working within agreed budgets
- Experience of working within contractual, quality-assurance, governance or compliance requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to influence, challenge constructively and hold others accountable for agreed outcomes
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of the relationship between performance, quality, resources and profitability
- Strong stakeholder-management and relationship-building skills
- Good IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, reporting systems and other business technology
- The ability and flexibility to travel regularly across the region and between Standguide locations as required
- Experience within employability, skills, welfare-to-work or another commissioned public-service environment would be an advantage, particularly if you have worked with externally funded contracts, Prime Contractors, Ofsted, Matrix, Fidelity or comparable quality frameworks.
- Experience of multi-site operations, business development, operational change or continuous-improvement activity would also be beneficial.
- Overseas equivalent qualifications will be accepted.
